Arrive at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan, where our local team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity for a short orientation drive through Côte d’Ivoire’s bustling economic capital—home to modern architecture, vibrant markets, and a rich mix of cultures.

Overnight: Hôtel Astral, Abidjan

Leave the busy rhythms of Abidjan behind as you journey north to Bongoanou, a quieter town surrounded by cocoa farms and forested landscapes. Along the way, you’ll pass rural villages and roadside markets that hint at the country’s agricultural backbone. In the afternoon, settle into your hotel and explore the local area at your own pace.

Overnight: Hôtel du Lac Kaby, Bongoanou

After breakfast, drive to Yamoussoukro, the political capital of Côte d’Ivoire. Here, you’ll visit the iconic Basilica of Our Lady of Peace—one of the largest churches in the world. A walk through the landscaped grounds offers a sense of the city’s grand yet tranquil atmosphere. Continue on to Daloa for the night, crossing into the heart of central Côte d’Ivoire.

Overnight: Hôtel la Grace, Daloa

Today’s route takes you west through lush, mountainous terrain to Man, a city known for its cool climate and scenic surroundings. In the afternoon, visit the sacred monkey forest, home to a community of colobus monkeys considered guardians of the forest. A stop at the cascading La Dent de Man waterfall rounds out the day.

Overnight: Hôtel Beau-Séjour, Man

Set out early for Odienné, located in the northwestern corner of the country. The journey passes through remote landscapes and savannah plains. Upon arrival, visit a local artisan workshop to see traditional weaving and metalwork, or enjoy a quiet evening walk to experience the relaxed rhythm of this northern town.

Today’s drive heads east toward Korhogo, a major center of Senufo culture. En route, you may stop in smaller villages where age-old customs are still practiced. In Korhogo, you’ll have the chance to visit a woodcarving studio and watch artisans at work—a tradition passed down for generations.

Overnight: Hôtel des Savanes, Korhogo

Explore two important cultural towns today. In Kaouara, visit the mud-brick mosque, built in classic Sudano-Sahelian style. Continue to Kong, once a key city in the trans-Saharan trade. Its historic mosque and old town reflect centuries of history. Return to Korhogo in the late afternoon.

Overnight: Hôtel des Savanes, Korhogo

Leave Korhogo and journey south to Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire’s second-largest city. Known for its lively textile market, Bouaké offers an introduction to urban life in the country’s interior. Spend time wandering the market stalls or enjoy a coffee at a local café as the city buzzes around you.

Overnight: Hôtel Mon Afik, Bouaké

Drive south to Grand-Bassam, a coastal town with colonial-era architecture and palm-fringed beaches. Once the French capital of Côte d’Ivoire, it’s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through the old quarter with its faded buildings and artisanal boutiques, or relax by the Atlantic shore as your journey nears its end.

Overnight: Hôtel Capricio, Grand-Bassam

After a relaxed morning, return to Abidjan for your onward flight. Depending on your schedule, you may have time for a final visit to a local market or a short stop at the National Museum before heading to the airport.
